Another language....

Kylie has been learning some Spanish for almost a year now. She knows/or at least tries to remember her colors, numbers, body parts, and a few everyday phrases. I love when she just randomly says something in Spanish.

Grandma Gigi was looking at a magazine with Kylie and they were talking about the pictures; they tried to find numbers, letters, and colors. I was doing my own thing and then walked over to see what they were doing. Mom was pointing to the color blue.

(Mom) "What color is this?"
(Kylie) "Azul."
(Mom) "Huh?!"
(Me - snickering) "She said azul; she told you the color in Spanish."
(Mom - amazed)

Since the weather has been nice, we have been hitting the playground somethin' fierce. hahaha. When you have an incredible active child, you must get them outside as much as possible!! tehe, but I digress.....

We went to the playground and Kylie was playing around for awhile. A little girl and her dad came over. Kylie immediately runs over and starts talking to her. The little girl's dad started speaking to his daughter (but in another language, I'm not really sure what language it was.) He then told me she doesn't speak much English but she is learning.

The girls played for awhile and then it was time for us to go in and have lunch. As we were leaving Kylie gives the little girl a hug and says, "Adios." It was so sweet! :)

Kylie recognized that they were speaking another language (and the only other language Kylie knows is Spanish) and she wanted to try and communicate with her. It melted my heart. :)
