Was I Naughty Today?!?!?!

Wow, wow, wow, today was NOT a good parenting day. :P My daughter was wearing me down. Everything I asked her to do, she wouldn't. Everything I asked her not to do, she did. She was even telling me no! This was at home, at the store, and at Gigi's (that's grandma, my mom). When we were in the car heading home, she had the nerve to ask me (with a huge smile, by the way.) "Was I naughty today?" ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!?!?! Grrrr........

Deep breaths, counting, praying, silently screaming, and looking forward to 8PM got me through this day.

She's only 3, she's only 3, she's......about to be 4!!!! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!

Warnings, timeouts, a good old fashion scolding, and even a spank on the bottom......these had little affect compared to me saying, "Daddy Pops is going to be very disappointed to hear about your behavior today." Boy did the tears fall then!

When we got home, we talked about why we don't run in the parking lot, why we don't throw rocks in the parking lot, why we shouldn't be yelling in the grocery store, and why we should listen to our parents; we cried, we hugged, and we prayed. (She cried more because "God is probably sad that I wasn't listening.")

Now she's sleeping soundly and I'm sitting on the couch........wondering what tomorrow will bring.

Way to hang in there mama! As frusterating as these days can be it is encouraging to see them finally understand that the greatest offence is against God.
Enjoy a lil peace and quiet!

I definitely was hanging....by a thread. I do like to see that she understands that God is always with us and wants us to be obedient. I just have to remember that verse you have at the top of your blog (train them up in the way they should go, and when they grow old they will not depart from it.) Here's to peace and quiet! :)
