A couple of MOMents in my life

Aug. 2, 2009.

MOMent 1:
Kylie has been buckling herself into her carseat for the last month and sometimes she has difficulty depending on what kind of jacket she is wearing. Well, she needed some help this afternoon so I was 'patiently' helping her. :D It isn't too easy buckling someone from the front seat, but I was doing my darndest. I kept telling her to scoot her bottom back so I could buckle her and she was getting soooo frustrated. Then she worriedly said, 'MY BOTTOM IS GOING TO SEE YOU IN A MINUTE.' hahaha. I guess she was slowly scooting her pants down everytime she would scoot back.

MOMent 2:
This actually just happened a couple of minutes ago. First, let me say Kylie has been peeing in the potty chair for quite sometime now and knows when and where to go when she has to. So....Kylie was being lazy and peed in her pants at the table. Of course, she didn't tell me and I noticed her pants were wet and I asked her if she spilled water or peed on herself. 'I spilled,' she said with SUCH a look of guilt. I asked her again and told her if she was lying I was going to spank her bottom. Well, she told me it was water. I unfortunately, smelled it (for affect) and then told her to turn around. Kylie KNOWS what this phrase means and immediately covered her cheeks up with both hands. I told her to move her hands and Kylie decided to take this moment in time and tell me 'I LOVE YOU MOMMA, SOOOOO MUCH.' hahahaha, what a funny little girl. ( Just so you know, she still got spanked. :D )

This happened last night (June 27, 2009) and I knew I wanted to share it. I actually called my mom to tell her about this.
Kylie's bedtime is at 8PM and when we said good night I could hear her playing around in her room. I gave her about 15 minutes and then went in and told her to knock it off. THIS of course did not end the playing and she decided to add singing and laughing. So she had to get out of her bed and have time out. After time out I told her that if she didn't lay still she would be in time out until daddy came home and then he would be VERY disappointed. (She hates to make daddy sad.) Oddly enough she thought I was joking and decided to get out of her bed and knock on her door. I put her in time out in the hallway so that Adam would see her when he opened the front door. She cried and whined and begged and tried to convince me that she was soooooo sleepy. (hahahaha) I called Adam to see how close he was to being home and he wasn't close enough for me to listen to THAT for 25 minutes. So he got on to her over the phone, which is just as bad according to Kylie has she cried on the phone. I blew Kylie's nose and wiped her tears and then before she got back in her bed I asked her what her memory verse was. (Sidenote: Kylie learns a memory verse every week at school and Kylie loooooooves to show off things that she knows.) Kylie gave me the biggest smile and started "Children o......." But all of a sudden she stopped and put her head on my shoulder and started crying. Very gently I told Kylie to say her memory verse to me. So she whispered with tear filled eyes: "Children, obey your parents, in the Lord, for this is right." I asked her what that means and she told me "I have to lay down and go to sleep." (It was the sweetest thing ever because she actually was able to take a memory verse and apply it to her situation. She knows that obey means listen and she was reminded of that last night. I was proud of her and thankful for scripture.)

* I was doing the "daily cleaning of the purse", which means Kylie gets any nickels, dimes, and pennies that maybe gathered at the bottom. I handed her two Kylie sized handfuls of coins and she headed to her room to put them in her piggy bank. A minute later she came back in and said, "Mommy something is wrong with my pennies. They are white and have corn on them!" I had no idea what she was talking about so I looked over at her and she was holding up the dimes. hahahaha. :)

* This one just happened - Aug. 2, 2009. (tehe) Kylie kept telling me she was very hungry, practically starved I'm sure. So I finally gave in and warmed up some food (left over steak, mashed potatoes, and vegetables). While it was cooking she asked if she could have a pudding or something. Maybe after dinner I tell her. So she sits at her table and eats all her steak (which was really good) and then tells me she is done. Ummmmm.....nooooo you are going to eat ALL your food. Remember you were REALLY hungry?! She looks down at her plate and unhappily starts eating her vegetables. After a couple of bites she looks at me and says, "I need to go throw up in the toilet." LOL. Oh my gosh, I had to choke back my laughter. (And you know that was hard for me to do!!)

The joys of motherhood!!!!!!!!!
